The Principal's Introduction

Welcome to our website. I have the honour of being the Principal at this OUTSTANDING school here in Matata in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. This website will give you a glimpse into the work we do. We are building our pages to show you into our classrooms so that you can see displays and work in progress. You can also view our school calendar and the most recent newsletters.

Matata Public School promises to provide an education that is strong  in its foundations, stimulating and extending in its content and will meet the needs of your child. Our aim is to work with you to make your childrens time in school a happy and fulfilling experience. We believe that education is all about the partnership between home and school, parent and teacher and that by working together we can provide the best for your children.

While it is customary for principals to write a short piece welcoming visitors to their school website, I actually think that our children can do a much better job of introducing our school! Each time you visit this page you will see a randomly selected introduction below.

What I like about Matata Public School is that I have lots of friends and do fun things. In the morning I like fitness and going outside for relays.  In the afternoon I like doing P.E. I like getting Duffy books and when it is assembly I like getting spotchas and certificates.  I like playing touch rugby with my friends.
